The Big Apple On A Not So Big Budget - The Met

To cap off our New York trip, we checked out The Met, one of the largest museums in the world. It's so big that it would take you more than a day to fully appreciate what it has to offer.

The Met

It's already past 4 in the afternoon and we still have to catch-up with my cousin by 6pm for a farewell dinner. Seems like we'll have less than an hour to roam The Met.

We took a quick lunch at Ho Yip Chinese Restaurant on Liberty street, just beside the World Trade Center. The restaurant offers rice and has an "A" rating.  New York City has required restaurants to post letter grades that correspond to scores received from sanitary inspections. Always choose A!

We then took the subway to 5th Ave and walked ran towards The Met. Entrance to The Metropolitan Museum of Art costs a suggested price of $25 for adults. We ignored this suggestion and walked around the museum freely.

As I've said before, I'm not artsy. But the artworks on display are simply amazing. Such a shame that we're on borrowed time.

Also on display were artifacts from ancient Egypt. One of the very few exhibits I was excited about. Got obsessed with King Tut upon catching a documentary on Nat Geo years back.

And just like that, it's almost 7PM and we're very late for our dinner. Time to wrap up our New York escape.
